Dodgers work to get Furcal's back stronger

Before Tuesday night's game, the Dodgers thought Rafael Furcal was finally healthy enough to play after missing a week with lower back soreness. By the end of the night, he was on the disabled list for the second time this year.

More bad news on the season-ending injury front. According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times , Dodgers manager Joe Torre said Thursday that catcher Russell Martin is unlikely to return from the disabled list this season.

Dodgers Stadium: ‘Mannywood’ out, John Hancock in

“Mannywood” is no more at Dodger Stadium. When the Los Angeles Dodgers opened a seven-game homestand Monday night with the San Diego Padres, the “Mannywood” sign that adorned the short fence in the left-field corner was absent — as was the slugging left fielder, who is on the disabled list for the third time this season.
