Dodgers send out Billingsley on short rest to face Giants

In danger of losing a fourth straight game, the Los Angeles Dodgers are in need of a spark. That could come from work-horse Chad Billingsley, who will pitch on three days’ rest for the first time in his career this afternoon in the continuation of a three-game series versus the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park.

Dodgers can't pick up Monasterios

After letting two early leads get away Friday night, the Dodgers fell back into their offensive funk until the ninth inning and fell to Tim Lincecum and the Giants, 6-5.

Giants hold off late Dodgers rally

Aubrey Huff hit a go-ahead two-run double in the third inning and added a solo homer and the San Francisco Giants held off a late rally to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 on Friday night. Tim Lincecum (11-4) scattered seven hits and two runs over seven innings to win for the first time since July 15 and pull the Giants within 2 1/2 games of first-place San Diego in the NL West.
